Thanks for the welcome and good advice. We have printed the instructions concerning steering troubleshooting and the 75 tips. That broken tooth in the works makes sense. I also discovered something else earlier this evening. On right hand turns the right side radius rod gets into the frame of the tractor. No wonder steering is sluggish! Upon inspection this heavy rod is bent upward and inward in the middle. The left side radius rod is perfectly straight. I have a friend who owns a machine shop who says he can straighten it for me if I can get it off. I got it loose and completely detached from the rear and got the single large nut on the bottom free from the threaded pin in the front. Why doesn't that pin pop out the top when I tap it from the bottom? I thought this would be the easiest thing, but I guess not. I don't want to damage the threads by beating on it, but it won't budge at all. We applied liquid wrench to let it soak overnight. Are we missing something obvious?
