Yes, I am concerned about hose clutter. We've all seen tractors that you can't even mount the tractor from one side because of a snake's nest of hoses. And where does one mount your device to? Bolt it to the fender? Build a bracket?
An original valve is 4 bolts and done. No wires.
If you sell your tractor to upgrade to a newer Ford you can transfer it to the next one. I agree that Ford remotes are not cheap. But for ease of assembly, neatness, handy location of the handles and over 60 years of proven reliability I think they are worth it.
