I take my last comment back. It appears that the sealed bulb has a metal ring around its perimiters where it fits inside the retaining ring. I'm gonna sand the perimeter and spots along the retaining ring and housing/shell. I out to be able to get continuity between the metal ring at the perimeter of the bulb and bayonet post on the back.
Where are your markings on the shell? I picked up this tractor from an old mechanic. Mechanically sound and not alot of rehab. The work like could be a replacement as it has no markings.
