Remove the front #1 spark plug. Remove the front tappett chamber cover. With a piece of soft wire in the spark plug hole turn the engine till you can feel the piston coming up. The wire will have to be crooked toward the left side of the engine in order to feel the piston. When the piston come to top then just srarts sown the intake valve should just be opening. If not turn the engine over again till the top of the piston is felt and again see if the intake valve opens when the piston starts back down. If it does the cam is in time.
