I would guess the turnbuckle is for adjusting the cross shaft - to set the width of the plow cut.
The Dearbons had the same adjustment but you loosened a couple of nuts on a U bolt to turn the shaft.
The 101 plows had a bolt you could adjust - first photo - or some of them had a handle you could adjust to accomplish the same thing.
I don't think the economy plow had that adjustment but did have an adjustment to set how the plow tracked behind the tractor.
You can see the handle on the 101 as well as the adjustment on the Economy plow in the second photo.
