I'm trying to decipher the parts catalogs and the history of the 9N and 2N carburetors. The Marvel-Schebler Model #TSX-33 is listed as the carb used from '39 thru early 8N production. Part number 9N-6510 is listed up to the '42 MPC then a suffix 'A' is added with no explanation. The '43 Supplemental Price List, which is basically a list of the war time parts, shows the carb with p/n 2N-6510. Curious too that the '43 Moto-Tug MPC shows the same carb used on those. No MPC's were issued for '44 and '45, due to the war, but the '46 MPC reverts back to the 9N-6510-A carb. If a part gets a suffix, it means there was at least one other part, and it would have either a 'B' suffix or there would be an 'A1' and an 'A2' version. Now think about the wartime 2N tractor with the choke feeding in the opposite direction-out towards the front and thru the right front dogleg. This would have the choke control lever on the carb with a 'dumbell' looking part so the linkage could snap on either way.
