I have not worked on that fuel system before before so take this with a grain of salt.
This is a valve that attaches to the bottom of the tank with a couple of bolts., Is that correct?
And I believe there is rather limited room between the tank and valve cover?
I would think a guy could take a scrap of aluminum, a drill and a pipe tap and manufacture an adapter plate to bolt on where the shut off originally was.
Add a street elbow and an inline ball valve somewhere easily accessible between the elbow and the carb to stop the fuel flow.
Of course, I do not restore tractors but I do fix leaks and will make simple mods if they will solve the problem of poorly made aftermarket parts.
