Sounds to me like you have a broken piece of linkage with a spring loaded ball end?
The round disc is a cork friction disc and helps keep the throttle in place.
So, did you break the nub off the metal plate on top of the cork friction disc or the end on the linkage?

Fleabay might be one source for those parts.
That disc should be universal between Ford and Ferguson, at least prior to the 8N and TO-35 era. Ford tractor hydraulic system from '39 to '48 was the Ferguson design.
After that things changed.

I dug out my 5/73 Fergy parts book and I suspect your machine might be a '30 model.
The MF 35 has no disc in it.
