Heres what I think, I believe the first two pertain to yours and HCookes filters and definitly the one pictured in the 39 manual. I think ive seen that HCookes has the non-removable top. Theres always a possibilty of error on my part.

9n-9600-A and 9n-9600-B These two have the Non-removable tops, air-cleaner with the extra bend in them 1939

9n-9600-C1 Removable filter with flat top, flat bottomed cup with oil mark 39-43
9n-9600-C2 "U" rounded cup , flat topped removable filter, "U" embossed on oil
filter body 39-47
9n-9600-C3 Removable filter with rounded top, flat bottom, screw clamp, 39-43
9n-9600-D " " " " " " " , Spring clips, 43-47

I believe Don B. has some of the parts manuals you mentioned. A lot of my information comes from the 46 manual, the posts by Randy (PA) and the different assemblies ive seen.
