I think with silvering there needs to be a substrate that the metal will adhere to. Brass was used a lot back in the 20's and such. Copper, zinc, and tin are others. The big problem with using metals like chrome and nickel are the chemical by-products that the EPA has banned in most countries. I think I may try the Eastwood products when I get around to it. Most all companies offering 'restorations' or 'resilvering' are expensive.
