If it's a flat area, why not a piece of cork like the touch control has? Craft stores have cork in sheets. Zane used blocks of nylon for the round bar that links the lift arms to the touch control lever. Those have been working fine on my 2N for several years and don't seem to work any different in rain, snow, ice, dirt.
