When did they stop stamping numbers on the transmission flange? I looked at my late 40 and it has no numbers. My other assortment of hulks only one had a very small 2 right of center, upside down when reading from the rear. The 9NBN(1941) is stamped 9NBN, but no serial number. I believe this was just to mark the transmission at the factory before assembly. Like the BNO40's, I believe it is a "kerosene "transmission.(lower low and higher high),tho we haven't disassembled yet and counted gear teeth.
