Wouldn't it have been easier to just fix it correctly?
Google "wiring diagrams JMOR"
Find the wiring diagram for your tractor & follow it.
The problem is just as you described it: " im not sure if the wire is hooked to more than one item "
Neither are we. You can easily kill that EI by reversing polarity or leaving the key on.
So, my advice is to disconnect the battery & then very carefully follow JMOR's wiring diagram. Post back if you have any questions.
Once it is wired so that all of us understand it, finding the spark problem will be easy.
