As Dean would say, "bingo." Also, these idiots like their jobs more than their idioligy. Nothing is more important to a politician than being re-elected. They can see that the voters are realizing their policies are raising gas prices and will skyrocket gas prices when the refineries go away. Chevron and the petrolium industry have done a good job with TV ads explaining that "progressive" (really regressive) policies will lead to $8 per gallon gas in CA. Right now unleaded regular is $4.19 per gallon at the gas station hear my home. When I visit my kids in Kansas, it is about $2 less expensive.
