Too many sunken cities in the ocean.
That leaves the question of the rate of warming that is occurring over the millennia of time?
Somewhere in a stone writing somewhere might be a reference to a sunken city. Locate both the carving and the city, there in you could date your realistic rate of warming.
However that might not include continental shift which with a small ocean front city location might also account for it's being sunken.
I believe there is a sunken city in Japan and another one in the Gulf of Mexico, if not two.
