OK, Years ago I had a 1972 Dart Swinger 318 2 bbl. I found this article in a hot rod magazine on hopping up a 318 cheap, It said use 360 heads,340/360 exhaust manifolds, a 340/360 cast iron 4 bbl intake manifold and a aftermarket cam (Sorry don't remember which cam) I did all that and it woke up my Dart big time.
Like was said, Find a car/truck with a 360.
