If you are trying to connect your Toshiba via wireless connection to your modem/router, you will have to replace the wireless comm. controller on your motherboard. I recently had to do this on an older Lenovo laptop of mine. Go to the Toshiba site and then the support section, enter your Toshiba model, and see if they even offer an upgraded controller. If you can get one, you open up the bottom, find the current one, remove it, and insert the replacement.

If not available and you have an open USB slot, you can get a USB wireless comm. connector. I've used them in the past and they work ok.
