The mighty 318 is running. Most things are working. The interior for camping is mostly new. The original electric system was a bigger disaster than imagined. I am talking about my B200 Dodge camper van. First new carb did not do what I thought it should do. Replacement works fine. New oil pressure and water temp, do not need E power. Sweet.
Still not working is the fuel gauge and horn. New wiper motor, ignition module, volt meter ( replaces the original amp meter which failed, causes a brown out ) alternator, external regulator, washer motor and a bunch of other bits like brake parts.
Tomorrow the Tukvan goes to the tranny shop for a gearbox ( auto ) flush, and new oil, and the diff. Still have not found someone to adjust the steering box. Have been advised to leave it for a pro. We welded on some new sheet metal to replace the rusty bits. Made a new rack on the back for the KE100 Kawasaki Lily. 4 new tyres, tires, tars, We leave soon for the Arctic ocean. Hope we make it. 2 friends on bikes left 01 June. they are up there somewhere. My free van has cost about $6,000- and several months of work.
