I think I can. Age may have deteriorated my ability a bit. LOL. Years ago on a charter flight from LA to Detroit we hit severe turbulence and the plane dropped so harshly that the "beverage" glass in my hand went up to the overhead bins and back down. I did not spill a drop.
I had been listening to the pilot talk to air traffic control requesting course change because of the storm ahead. They told him to maintain heading until they cleared traffic. When we dropped, I heard him TELL them, clear traffic, we are turning NOW! And he did.
