Thank you Chris. I have had time to do some reading on the 318. Generally regarded as reliable. I have a Haynes manual, and you tube has helped. I now know the cylinder numbers and firing order. You tube video has shown how to remove the hydraulic lifters, and how to adjust. A vacuum gauge is on my shopping list. I will be back on my Island next week and can resume work. As long as it does not freeze and snow again.
