Yep, I have called myself quite a few times in the last year or so. My mother, who died four years ago, calls me from time to time. Or, that is, someone calls from our phone number(s). The big thing right now that I'm getting is calls from the same area code, and from numbers that are similar to known numbers. Just enough to go ahead and answer. In the past when I got a person on the phone I had the pleasure of saying something, bad or good. But now it's all recordings. No fun there. Can't afford to "push one" for the operator, or whatever. That just means you have verified a working number for them to peddle.

My big question to anyone who is interested: Have you, or anyone you may know, ever EVER purchased goods or services from a telemarketer??? Ever.... so, if the answer is what I think it is, why do they keep on calling? For that one in a million shot where an old person or someone who is simply ignorant says yes????

And, of course, there are the sick minds out there who simply get the thrill of being that way.
