Now your making me think and that hurts. I did replace that, as the over flow jug was not dropping in level and there were no visible leaks on the ground.
I finally had to look at the radiator when one morning as it was running and I had my hand on the upper rad hose I was getting wet with tiny drops of antifreeze that I figured could only come from the radiator. I disemboweled that monstrosity just to see nothing obviously wrong with it. New rad and same problem. Of note is the oil sludge build up on the inside of the rad cap. I figure that is the oil passage port in the head gasket that feeds the valve train which is leaking under pressure. Not totally blown out because if it was, the antifreeze should be freely flowing back into that port, which it does not appear to be doing. At 270,994 miles, I don't believe I am going to get into that transverse mounted mess.
Then again last time it had spark plugs put into it was around 108,000 miles when we bought it. Those iridium toys might be due.
