I am amused, shall we say, that no one else has jumped into this fracas. Studded tires are good generally for about 6 weeks for me, usually from the 21st of Dec to mid Jan.
This year her van is pushing 271,000 miles and I have 4 tires with studs. I really don't believe her van will still be running this coming Dec of '22 with an already, I suspect, bad head gasket. Water level drops to a certain level and stays there. I figured a radiator with a pin hole due to the level not dropping, and replaced that. Nope. Same problem. It still starts, runs and drives so I just keep doing the oil changes about every 3500 miles and finally went to a 10/40 oil. The studded tires are run just on the front and work well as long as you remember the back end will come around if you get silly on an icy curve. Yeah. Ask me how I know that...
Young and dumb meets old and foolish.
I should go pull those of today in the sunshine. However the early '94 7.3 idiT F350 CC Dually is taking precedence over a lot of things.
White elephant. Best part is, it was her idea. I just expounded upon it.
