My very early 8N (manufactured in Aug or Sept 1947 - no SN, has replacement block) has a F&T Overdrive (I think, shifter on left side and retained with a hex head bolt). I could get you some dimensions of the shifter shaft location in relation to some housing features. When whom ever installed it, they misslocated the clearance hole so it rubs on the shaft. The tractor is located out at the farm which is snowed in, when we have a nice day again I will probably showshow the quarter mile and could get the measurements then if you want.
