I was looking at my friends' newly acquired early s/n *9N11xx* and it had the later battery access door (hinged) and the gas tank had the filler neck off to the side. Obviously it was replaced at some point. Other than the tank, later hood and grille, all other original items are there including a -20/+20 AMP gage with chrome bezel. Here's a photo of my early 9N gas tank with the filler neck set in the middle of the tank end. When did the gas tank filler neck position change? Was it when they went to the hinged door?
