Keith,these Ns are my hobby "outlet" so I'm not a mechanic.I always use a little sealer on the retainer seat.The retainer is a press fit.As one (?)has said too much rope exsposed could cause this retainer to crack so I guess too much sealer could add to this.But a,,,,lite smear,,,don't think so.My thoughts.
