Yes. The 8N cover has a single control rod and the 2N has a control fork. A much easier way to get position control on a 2N is to install Zane Sherman's 'Zane Thang'. Costs about $100 and take 15 mon to install. Gives excellent position control and you don't have to remove the top cover.
