Put you don't have that option with the 9N or 2N.

AS the mower drops/lowers the distance from the front edge of it to the front of the top link increases. The chains on the top link would stop that distance from increasing. Bad think is it puts all that stress on the top link. On an 8N you can put the chains on like this
