What I found when I pulled the dash off. NO hole to add or check gear oil anywhere!

What I ended up doing. Pulled top and steering tube. Found that the steering shaft had been modified/welded together and the tube had been welded to the top cover. Added 80/90 to the about the middle of the steering sectors. It was maybe a cup to cup and a half low.

Drilled from end of dash mount hole in the top cover (right side) to the inside of the top cover just above the top bearing. I can now remove the bolt to get 80/90 to bearing with oil can or grease with cornhead through the zerk I tapped into the bolt.

I'm not sure exactly what vintage this steering gear is with none of the lube plugs or holes and the welded steering shaft (maybe shortened or modified). However there is still no place to check the oil level.

Henry built one heck of a tractor for the day, but I wonder if his engineers ever thought about what it would take to check the oil level in these?
