I've been looking at the Shop & Repair manuals, but neither show a part I see that connects to the inner lever. The part consists of a bent piece of metal that attaches to the inner lever by a hook. The inner lever has a bracket welded to it that has three notches to attach the hook, a lower, middle and upper position on the inner lever. It's hard to explain, but easy to see in the picture. What is is? What does it do.
