Automotive jack stands will work fine as the 8N is not that heavy. If you want to buy something, just shop for "Heavy Duty" which will probably be rated for 2 or more tons each. Harbor Freight would have something as would all the auto parts stores and Walmart etc. Jack stands have the advantage of a smaller footprint giving you room to work around them or inserting them in between the wheel and transmission or other close fitting locations. I have some that are easily adjusted for height which is nice for following the axle as the jack lifts or lowers. I also have some that are a pain to adjust and typically just stay at a fixed height and get inserted when the height is right.
Square wooden posts 4X4 or 6X6 will work, as would 2X4, 2X6. Use longer pieces, say 16 or more inches long, and stack in pairs on their side to keep a stable footprint (I think it is called cribbing).
Stay away from using cinder blocks as they can crush or split under a concentrated load.
