The cost to completely service the distributor, even if it needs new bushings, is only about $25. A new breaker plate costs a little more, maybe $40, but comes with a new front bushing, eccentric, and points. A rebuilt original distributor is much better than any re-pop off ebay. Looking at the calendar, it's been over three years since I did any service on my 2N distributor. I keep a couple front distributors on the shelf, ready to go, so I might have to swap a fresh one on this weekend, now that I see how long it's been.
