There is another nut that you need to tighten. Unfortunately it is on the inside. The pin is tapered where it seats in the axle housing on an 8N. Often, by tightening the inside castle nut, you can seal the pin in the seat and stop the leak.

Someone here has photos showing what you need to do to access that nut. Hopefully that person will add to this threat with some photographic help.

From your pic, I assume your leak is on the left side. To access that nut, you need to remove the left axle housing. It's not technically difficult, but requires some heavy lifting. It's best if you have some help and hopefully a good lifting boom or a stout tree limb you can hang the axle assembly from as you move it away from the tractor. Go slow and make sure things are well supported before you get under anything heavy. Take the tire off first.

Once the left axle is off the tractor, you can then reach in and remove the differential. With the differential out, you can also access the right side pin nut and get them both tight at the same time. If you remove the right side axle, you cannot acces the left side nut.

I have a neighbor with hands much smaller than mine. He was able to tighten the nut by removing the PTO and reaching in through the hole in the rear. He says it took him 1.75 hours just to pull out the cotter pin!
