Hello, I have aquired a 1940 9N ser 10747. If I am correct the tractor is still early enough that the transmission(despite having a steering box mounted dipstick) should still have the side fill plug and the trans number stamped in it but it has neither. BUT it has a Sherman Step-up in it. So I am guessing that when the Sherm went in, rather than swapping it to helical gears they just swapped in an entire 2N transmission. Am I correct, should that it have a level plug and a stamped number?
