BTW. The Ford "Jeep" prototype was powered by a 9N engine in 1941. There were a number of them, and a GPA designation (exact number, I do not know). I got to see one in a parade once. They were not, however, the production models. Production Ford Jeeps are GPW's powered with Willey's engines. My son's 1942 GPW is currently stored in my barn with my N's, Willey's engine.
Many bolt on parts and accessories were interchangeable with Willeys built Jeeps. A government requirement.
Also, Ford GPWs had many parts with the Ford script F embossed or stamped on parts even the heads of bolts. They had Firestone tires with the Ford Script name on them. My son's has 5 script tires.
There are numerous other details that my son knows about them that I don't.
