Ok, bought a terminal block. Rewired the tractor to the diagram Ed provided (thank you). The wire to the voltage regulator is not on the same lug of the terminal block. Flashed the generator. Started up and have the same issue. Slight miss at low rpm. Bad miss at mid to high rpm. Remove the field wire from the generator and the miss goes away. Beginning to think something internal in the generator. It was rebuilt before I bought the tractor. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.
