Hi All, I am in the process of rebuilding my carb off my ‘41 9N. I have been having a heck of a time getting the
small jets out. They are corroded in there. I cleaned them out with a torch cleaner wire, and blew them out with compressed air. Decided to leave them in. I have a question regarding the float. Mine looks damaged where the pontoons are smashed in on both sides. I find it a bit odd. Also, I cannot seem to find a new drain plug for the bottom of the bowl. Mine was corroded in there so badly, I had to heat it up to get the plug out, destroying the plug. I guess I can make a trip to the hardware store for a fine thread plug that size. I find it strange no rebuild kits that are offered has these two items ( float and plug ) included. Has anyone else been on this journey?

I have read on some forums not to but one of those Amazon offered, 30 buck carbs. They’re Chinese made and junk… I want to keep my original in that case. I’d welcome any input Thank you.
