Back when our 1950 8N was new we immediately installed a shackle like yours using the original bracket pin securing the loop portion of the shackle with the screw pin to the rear. We also carried a grab hook on a swivel so a chain could be used. They setup was on the tractor for many years and used frequently. When the tractor was traded in there was no damage to any of those parts.
