Long time since the hydraulic oil has been changed. Maybe never since I have owned it.

What does it mean when the Operator's Manual says "Be sure all hydraulic cylinders are fully extended when checking the level" How do I know if/when the hydraulic cylinders are fully extended?

If replacement parts are not available can the PTO be disabled or removed without opening a can of other hydraulic or operational worms?
