I have a 1953 Golden Jubilee acquired about 15 years ago. The tractor had a Model 23-12 Live Power Take-Off already installed. This attachment enables the operator to stop the forward and rearward motion of the tractor while the PTO continues to run and operate a PTO driven implement. Frequently when the Live PTO Attachment lever is in the Forward Position the clutch will not re-engage and I am unable to move the tractor in either direction. This malfunction is intermittent but getting worse. I have tried revving the engine to speed the engagement of the clutch. Sometimes that seems to work but not always. Does anyone have suggestions? Am I looking at a complete overhaul of the PTO, or are there any easy fixes I can try first?
I am not mechanically inclined. Does anyone know a NNA tractor mechanic in the St Louis County MO area I might contact? Thank you.
