I experienced no start or even turnover on a Ferguson that had a perfectly good and charged battery, but had been sitting for a few months. For want of anything else I reached into the starter where the brushes were and using a screwdriver as a pry bar turned the armature a bit. That was it-the brushes had corroded a bit while sitting and once moved made contact and all was well after that.
