Bruce, you may have given me the key "circuit to ground". While everything was apart, I replaced my exhaust gasket. As a part of the cleaning I sprayed everything down with brake cleaner. While removing the distributor, I noticed the whole thing was greasy as heck. I'm thinking that I lost ground due to grease and oil seeping down and destroying the ground. I'll clean and check that later today. As for no continuity through the cap I was looking for it through the entire distributor from the contact on top to the individual lugs. Oops?
