I also am a original 6 volt diehard. However I have a 860 which a previous owner converted to 12 volts. Both work fine and I have changed neither.

In my opinion the only advantage to going to 12 volts would be if you want to power some accessory, such as a pump. I mounted a water spray outfit on the 3 point for protection when burning CRP ground.

However, if you are not experiencing any problems I would leave it alone and put my money elsewhere.
