I purchased a 1952 8n a while back i knew i was going to restore it, was planning to wait a little while. The first time i hooked a little disk to it fouled out all 4 plugs. Oh well.I have restored it now its a sweet little tractor. She purrs like a kitten. The other day while bush hogging my override adapter came off.I wasn't sure what held it on.I found pictures!! on this site.Very informative site.Keep up the good work. THANKS

Great site, and will dwell here frequently. I inherited my grandfathers 1948 8N and hauled it from Salisbury NC to my uncles place in Nacogdoches TX in 1999. It took me 3 trips with a 16ft flat bed trailer as my grandfather had 13 implements (all original dearborn). I plan on repainting it only, as it is in nearly pristine condition (barn kept its entire life).

Great site. Who ever put this together should have a statue build in their honor. Or at least a crop circle created in their likeness.

Since my last entry, I purchased a 1950 8N this week. It is in great shape compared to the one I'm restoring. The 12V conversion was apparently done by a pro because everything is in perfect running condition including all the gauges and lights.

Have '47 8N in running condition. Has been changed over to 12 volt system with alternator. Had to replace battery. Is any 12 volt OK to use? Cold cranking amps on new battery higher than old one.

I would like to talk to members about restoring my three 9ns. I have a number of questions. First and foremost, is what is the exact original gray paint color for the earliest models?
Thanks,
Phil Romans

I recently moved from Florida to Indiana so my wife could be close to her Mother and sisters. Mom and the three daughters own a small 50 acre farm. I've inherited an early Ford 8N that needs a lot of work and TLC. The tractor was running 3 years ago but has been idle since, covered in plastic. I restored an older Ford-Ferguson years ago and am looking forward to the task at hand with the 8N. I hope this site will be very useful in the months to come because I know I will need some assistance. Looking forward to discussions as work progresses.
