Making my den handicap accessible

I'm in a wheel chair now so couldn't fit under my desk or the 4' reloading bench I had in my den. Yesterday a contractor that I hired showed up to start construction. First he removed all the carpet so I can roll around easier. Then he moved the gun safe to it does not use up any floor space anymore.

Still need to work on the trim.

Then I rolled into the room in my power chair and we took some measurements. Bench is 8' 4" long, 2x4 brace on every stud with a 3/4" plywood top. Nice and solid.

Next we paint the floor. Then paint the room a lighter color. Need some 1/4 round molding around the work bench so things don't get lost between the bench and the wall. Then run power to the ceiling for an overhead light. I have a 6' power strip for the front of the workbench that needs to be mounted and wired. Then shelves on the walls and mount a vice and my reloading equipment.

Be nice having a work place again. Hope to be comleted in time for my birthday in February.
