Well kinda been watching craigslist for a while now looking for a cheapish Lincoln, Miller, or Hobart mig welder. Then surprise surprise, someone got me a welder for my B-day. Not what I really had in mind and not top of the line or anything like that but not going to complain. It's a 160 amp dual Voltage DC welder, so a stick welder. Came with 5 pounds of E7018 3/32 welding rod. So what the heck, I'll try stick welding. Anybody got some tips this kind of welding?
I've got 2 different auto dimming welding helmets now, both are cheaper ones but both have good rating online, have used them when helping others with welds around the farm. Some time in the future I still plan to get a mig, but for now this will do.
