You should wear safety glasses when you work on anything.Grinding,soldering,Striking chisels.I see many people using carpenters hammers for mechanics work.Bad practice since they are tempered hard and may chip and take out an eye.I have had alcohol sprayed in my eyes and a 22 long rifle shell spray burning gun powder in my eyes.A squirt of hydraulic oil in your eye can blind you.I lost most of my eye sight to cataracts at 75.Springs are dangerous.I had eye surgery so can see again.Drilling can put a hot chip in your eye.One poster on this forum messes with Remington rolling block rifles.Very dangerous gun , A shell burst can blind you.Wood splitting wedges can mushroom.A fellow died in Maine when a fragment broke off and struck him in the throat.
