Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?

Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.

Note: The "quote text in followups" is an option set by the administrators of this forum. If the option to "quote text in followups" is not used, the Comments field is left blank when posting a followup.

Why do I see (pic) and (url) in the message lines on the index page?

Why am I seeing multiple posts of the same thing after I post a message?

Most often this happens when you double click the "Post a Message" button or you hit the "Post a Message" button more than once by mistake. You need to only hit the button once. During peek hours of the day, some posts may take awhile for the software to write the pages to the server. Be patient while this is happening. Hitting the "Post a Message" button again before the page is written to the server will result in multiple posts.

What does the [URL] mean next to the time of day in posts?

The [URL] is a link to the current page shown. By clicking on it, the page will open in a full browser window to display the URL address in the address bar of your browser. This is useful when wanting to email the specific page or link to someone. You can also right-click on the [URL] link and choose "Copy Shortcut" (IE), or "Copy Link Location" (Firefox), and paste that into anything you want. The [URL] link will also show on the expanded thread pages.
