Just after the war, he encounters one of his detractors, a woman who says that he is drunk, in fact disgustingly drunk. He uses an old W.C. Fields line. Madam you are ugly. Whats more, you are disgustingly ugly. Tomorrow, I shall be sober but you will still be disgustingly ugly. HI NAN!
