"Polarizing Generator"

I saw this topic on the Nboard and thought it may apply here too.
I can't imagine a more polarized world, and especially our USA.
We can only wonder what generated this polarization, but I would bet that that this general discussion would also be split 51% to 49%.
This "all or none" attitude has become prevalent and I do not see it changing any time soon.
The calls for unity are quickly followed by we will put you in jail if you oppose us.
These calls are what trouble me the most.
"You are with us or against us", troubles me too..
I hope that someone can come up with a middle ground where a greater number then 51% of our voters can support the cause.
We need the truth and an open forum to discuss it.
So what do you think Generated all this turmoil, and how do we reset it without getting too shocked??
